Dementia Prevention & Treatment (ENCORE Program)

Meet Your Functional Medicine Practitioners

The ENabling COgnitive REpair program (known as the ENCORE Program) is run by the talented and experienced team of providers at The Healing Collective.

PREVENTION IS POSSIBLE!

Are you at risk for Alzheimer’s disease or experiencing mild cognitive changes?
Any impairment that you notice can be the first sign of a dementing process like Alzheimer’s disease.

The key to reducing and reversing your cognitive decline is to treat these changes as early as possible. Initial stages of Alzheimer’s disease can begin 10 or more years before the first signs become evident! Now is the time to incorporate a healthy brain protocol into your daily regimen to reduce and possibly reverse your disease process.

About The Prevention and Treatment of Cognitive Decline Program

Based on 30 years of scientific research, Dr. Bredesen recently published his evidenced-based research findings, which state that Alzheimer’s is the sum of a series of imbalances. It is the end result of layers of dysfunction: genetic factors, chronic inflammation, low-grade infection, blood sugar dysregulation, toxic load, deficiencies in nutrients and hormones, and other underlying conditions. The brain becomes unable to function properly, and starts to lose function in order to protect itself. By treating the underlying conditions, the contributing factors to cognitive decline can be cleared, giving the brain the best chances for recovery and / or reduced progression of decline. The ENCORE Program is a multidisciplinary team that takes an individualized approach to each patient to ensure the greatest likelihood of preventing cognitive impairment.

For the first time, we have the ability to reverse the effects of this disease process by decreasing and eliminating our exposure to environmental toxins, eating a diet that promotes brain health and adjusting our lifestyles to optimize our neurological functioning. Following a regimen that the team at the ENCORE Program customizes for your body/brain needs, you can slow and / or reverse the progression of dementia.

Prevention

Dementia does not come on suddenly. The underlying dysfunctions begin well before symptoms appear. Dr. Bredesen theorizes that dementia is the result of a brain succumbing to a series of imbalances the worsen over time.

We live in a world filled with environmental toxins, eat food grown in nutrient-deleted soil, and work in culture that rewards stress.

Keeping risk factors in check may help slow the progression/onset of dementia and related conditions.

Treatment

The current western model views Alzheimer’s as a progressive disease with no preventable causes and known cure.

Dr. Bredesen has suggested that Alzheimer’s is the sum of a series of imbalances. It is the end result of layers of dysfunction: genetic factors, chronic inflammation, low-grade infection, blood sugar dysregulation, toxic load, deficiency in nutrients and hormones, and other underlying conditions.

By treating the underlying conditions, the brain can begin to heal itself and function can be restored.
